The Department For Education have put together guides to help you support your children with their homework. 

Working Together! Pack for children aged 5 to 8 . including how to encourage your child to talk about their day at school. Practical games and activities to develop your child's imagination and problem solving skills.

Getting into Homework: for children aged 8 to 13 Includes how to encourage children who are not motivated to complete homework and a guide to the naitional curriculum at KS2
